Guan Yin Rui Sceptre

About item 173

Guan Yin boulder sculpt in translucent suffused lavender and green jadeite.

The lapidary deeply carved this sculpture all around using the natural elements of a single stone, enhancing symbolic images. The deity is rising from a lotus throne clutching the Ruyi sceptre, symbol of power and prunus branch, symbol of fruitful life.

A lucky pot bamboo evergreen and moon disc surround her flowing robes in ancient Chinese custom.
